Q

What structures are contained within the testis and what are their function?

A
  1. Leydig cells (respond to LH) – produce testosterone – gives negative feedback to GnRH – need in high concentrations for spermatogenesis and is also needed for male phenotype
  2. Sertoli (respond to FSH)- important for spermatogenesis (provide structural and metabolic support for the production of sperm) – produces inhibin (negative feedback GnRH)
