Spermatogenesis produces sperm through meiosis
What is spermiogenesis? and where does it occur?
hint: its not spermatogenesis.
The maturation of the sperm and shedding of unnecessary cytoplasm. Occurs in epididymis.
How many chromatids and chromosomes should be in a mature spermatocyte?

Flexible: Corpus spongiosum
Rigid: Corpora cavernosa
Why is the function of the Corpus spongiosum during an erection?
Keep the urethra open to allow for the sperm to exit, during an erection.
When is the Acrosome formed, before or after differentiation of the sperm into primary then secondary spermatocyte
It is formed after the differentiation of the sperm cell into primary and secondary spermatocyte.
What is the Acrosome important in forming the zygote?
It what allows the sperm to penetrate the egg through enzymatic activity.
What phase of mitosis does the egg complete when the sperm enters it?
Metaphase 2.
