Situated in the superficial Perineal pouch, it is composed of 3 masses of erectile tissue.
Two crura- Each crus firmly attached to the margins of pubic arch and covered by ischiocavernosus.
Bulb - Attached to the perineal membrane and is present between the two crura. It is covered by the bulbospongiosus. Its deep surface is pierced by the urethra above its center which traverses it to reach the corpus spongiosum. (Note- this part of the urethra shows a dilatation in its floor called the intrabulbar navicular fossa.
Body of the Penis - Intro and definition
The free portion of the penis which is completely enveloped by skin. It is continuous with the root of the penis in front of the lower part of the pubic symphysis. It is composed of three elongated erectile tissue that become engorged with blood during erection leading to its enlargement.
Three masses are- Right and left corpora cavernosa and median Corpus spongiosum.
