Counseling: take with food

Avoid if:
- CrCl < 30
- pregnant
- breastfeeding infant < 5 kg or infant < 5 kg

Doxycycline

Duration: 1-2 days before depart, 4 weeks after return

Counseling:
- sunscreen
- separate ingestion from cations

Avoid if:
- pregnant
- children < 8 yo
- allergy
- women with hx of yeast infections

Tafenoquine

Duration: 3 days before depart, 7 days after return

Counseling: take with food

Avoid if:
- G6PD deficiency or not tested for
- pregnant
- breastfeeding unless infant tested for G6PD
- children
- psychiatric disorder

Question 4

Chloroquine/Hydroxychloroquine

Answer 4

Dosing: once per week

Duration: 1-2 weeks before depart, 4 weeks after return

Avoid if:
- leaving < 1 week

Mefloquine

Answer 5

Dose: once per week

Duration: > 2 weeks before depart, 4 weeks after return

Avoid if:
- allergy
- active/recent depression
- recent hx of psychiatric disorders or seizures
- cardiac abnormalities

Primaquine

Duration: 1-2 days before depart, 7 days after return

Counseling: take with food

Avoid if:
- G6PD deficiency or not tested for
- pregnant
