Name the section of the name that refers to SE corrosion documentation?
16.2.2.6
Corrosion treatment documentation?
Document as a fix phase MAF, use A/T code Z and MAL code C01-C33. Or 170 because NALCOMIS isn’t updated yet.
Corrosion prevention documentation?
Documented on a MAF, use WUC 040 A/T code 0 MAL code 000
Define electrolyte ?
A liquid solution (usually water) containing ions. E.g. Salt water
Common SE metals?
Aluminum, steel, and magnesium, cadmium, nickel, chromium, and silver
Uniform surface corrosion?
Results from direct chemical attack on a metal surface. Involves only surface metal.
Galvanic corrosion?
Occurs when two dissimilar metals are in contact with each other and an electrolyte
Putting corrosion?
Common on magnesium and aluminum alloys
E.g. White or grey powdery substance
Exfoliation corrosion?
An advanced form of inter-granular corrosion that occurs when the surface grains of metal
Crevice corrosion?
Occurs when the electrolyte in a crevice has a different concentration than the area adjacent to the crevice.
Filiform corrosion ?
Is a special form of oxygen concentration cell corrosion or crevice corrosion that occurs on metal surfaces having an organic coating on them.
Fretting corrosion ?
A special form of concentration cell corrosion (crevice corrosion) that occurs in combination with surface wear.
