We are unsure as the to the implications they could have and some can persist in the environment, be carried long distances and may accumulate in food and human tissue
What is PVC and what does it contain?
PVC is a polymer that contains chlorine, carbon and hydrogen
What are the implications of adding plasticisers to PVC to soften it?
Adding plasticisers to soften means that they can leach into the surroundings and have a harmful effect, with some being carcinogenic
What are the stages of a life cycle assessment?
MUD is also known as manufacture, use and disposal. This is sometimes called the ‘cradle, use, grave’ assessment.
What must be considered at each stage of the LCA?
How much natural resources are required? How much energy is needed and produced? How much water and air is used?
How is the environment affected?
