American Revaluation
In 1776, Britain’s 13 colonies in North America rebelled against British rule
Louisiana Purchase
In 1803, the U.S. purchased the Louisiana Territory from France for $15 million. Which means the size of the United States just doubled and the United States now shares a border with Texas.
Neutral Ground
Agreement
The U.S. and Spain did not agree on the border between Texas and Louisiana, so they decided that the land in between the two spots they thought Texas ended neither country would control. Which ended up being a bad idea because outlaws, smugglers and thieves went to this area because neither countries authorities could go into this area.
Adams-Onis Treaty
In 1819, the U.S. and Spain signed the Adams-Onis Treaty, ending the Neutral Ground Agreement. The U.S. got Florida and the border they wanted and Mexico got a promise from the U.S. that they would never try to take Texas away.
Grito de Dolores
The Grito de Dolores was a Speech given by Father Hidalgo saying that Mexico was no longer going to put up with Spains rule.
Gutierrez-Magee Expedition
This was an expedition led by the U.S. to make an Army to try to take over Texas from Mexico.
The Battle of Medina
General Arredondo, the Spanish overwhelmed the Republican Army. They were all killed during the battle or executed after it. As a result, Texas remained under Spanish control for another seven years.

It declared Mexico independent from Spain, said Mexican people would have equal rights, and said Catholicism would be the official religion of Mexico
