Where is the brain and what controls it?
in the skull and the nervous centres is what controls all of the life functions.
Where is the skin and what does it do?
covers the entire body and it is a protective layer on the outer surface of the body.
Where is the heart and what does it do?
situated in the central chest area, circulates the blood to all of the tissues which is essential for life.
Where are the lungs and what do they do?
located on either side of the heart, they facilitate the exchange of gases during the process of respiration.
Where is the uterus and the ovaries and what do they do?
located in the lower abdomen of females.
involved in reproduction.
Where are the testes and what do they do?
in the groin in males.
they secrete testosterone and produce sperm.
Where is the liver and what does it do?
in the upper right of the abdomen.
involved in digestion and excretion of waste products.
Where is the pancreas and what enzymes does it secrete?
behind the stomach.
secretes vital digestive enzymes.
What takes place in the large intestine?
water reabsorption takes place.
What are two other names for the large intestine?
cecum.
colon.
What takes place in the small intestine?
main food absorption takes place.
What are two other names for the small intestine?
duodenum.
ileum.
Where are the two kidneys located?
on either side of the body, behind the large intestine.
What are the main functions of the kidneys?
secrete urine.
