What is the brown wire ?
A
The live wire, connected to the fuse
Has a PD of 230v

What is the blue wire?
A
The neutral wire, with a PD of 0v

What is the green wire ?
A
The earth wire, it’s there for safety.

How does the earth wire protect?
A
If the live wire comes lose, the current travels through the earth wire to a metal pole in the ground.
The fuse then melts and the current stops
