A

1645: Group of people built its own laboratory to demonstrate experiments
1662: After King Charles II attended some meetings, the group became known as the ‘Royal Society’
IMPACT: Changed the way doctors thought due to their experimental approach. By late 1600s, Galen’s ideas FINALLY began to fade

8 year old James Phipps in 1790s: Jenner inserted cowpox pus from a dairy maid into him and then inoculated him with smallpox matter- IT WORKED!! (didn’t get smallpox)
