  1. funding–> must be eligible for government health services
  2. capable adult–> 18 or older and capable of making healthcare related decisions
  3. grievous and irremediable medical condition
  4. voluntary request for MAiD, not due to external pressure
  5. informed consent–> aware of alternative, palliative care etc

  1. incurable serious illness, disease or disability
  2. irreversible decline in capability (advanced state)
  3. intolerable suffering that cannot be relieved under acceptable conditions
