The direction of the force on a magnet at each point in the field. They start at the North Pole and reach the South Pole.

What do iron filings show when scattered around the magnet?
They arrange themselves to show the magnetic field pattern
What happens when the poles of two magnets are brought close to eachother?
Both magnets experience a force
What happens when two north or south poles are brought together?
The force between them is repulsive
What happens when a north and a south are brought together?
The force between them is attractive
