Q

Mention three uses of a permanent magnet

A

is used in computer memory device to store data
It is used in refrigerators to close the door properly
It is used as a compass needle for sailors and navigators
It is used in loud speakers electromotors and videotapes
It is used as magnetic ink on checks so it can be sorted by a magnetic machine

Q

Mention three properties of a magnet

A

a magnet has two poles but if a magnet has two poles of the same kind that is the two poles are both north poles or south poles it is known as consequent poles

The force of a magnet is concentrated at the poles

Like poles repel and unlike poles attracts

When a magnet suspended and swung freely and comes to a stop the North Pole of such magnet is seeking the North Pole of the Earth and the South Pole of such magnet is seeking the South Pole of the Earth therefore the Earth is a magnet that has a north pole and a South Pole
