What is a Separation Policy?
Procedures set when an employee wants to leave from an organization
What are some of the ways that you can separate from a company?
Retirement, Resignation, Termination
What are the qualities of a good Separation Policy?
- Amicable means of separation

- Clear (Easy to implement)
What is the difference between recruitment and selection?
The recruiting process is used to identify the most suitable candidate then the selection process is where the best candidate is chosen
What are policies?
Policies are formal statements produced and supported by senior management.
They can be organization-wide, issue-specific, or system-specific.
What are standards?
Standards are mandatory courses of action or rules that give formal policies support and direction.
What are guidelines?
Guidelines are recommendations to users when specific standards do not apply.
Guidelines are designed to streamline certain processes according to what the best practices are.
What are procedures?
Procedures are detailed step-by-step instructions to achieve a given goal or mandate.
They are typically intended for internal departments and should adhere to strict change control processes.
If a client approaches you to represent them and they have done an abortion, yet you do not believe in abortions. What would you do?
- Application of the Cab Rank Rule (Doesn’t allow for the rejection of a client’s case unless under exceptions)

Exceptions of the Cab Rank Rule are Conflict of Interest and lack of expertise in the area of law in which the matter is premised.

Internal: Promotion, Transfers, Re Hiring
External: Interviews, Advertisements, Recruitment Agencies
What is the difference between Job Analysis and Job Design?
Job Analysis is the systematic organization of a job, it looks at the attributes needed to competently perform the job.
Job design is the process of deciding on the contents of a job in terms of contents and responsibilities.
