Macrophages Flashcards
3 examples of DAMPs?
ATP, HSPs and ECM proteins
What is classical macrophage activation?
LSP and INF-gamma
What does classical activation cause macrophages to secrete?
TNF-alpha, CD86, NO, H202, IL-6, MHC11, IL-23
What does IL-23 stimulate?
Th17
What does regulatory macrophage secrete?
IL-10, TNF-beta
What is wound healing macrophage activated by?
IL-4, IL-13 MHCII and arginase.
What happens to arginase?
Converted to ornithine - precurser to collagen
What are opsonic receptors?
FcRS, CR3
What causes phagosome maturation
Rab7/9 and cathspin
What antimicrobial killing mechanisms do macrophages use?
Short 15-20 base amino acids which bind electrostatically to target and form pores.
What nutrient deprivation occurs?
lactoferrin, SAMHD1, Vit-B12 binding protein.
What proteolytic activity occurs?
V-ATPase, INF-gamma, lysozymes, caspase D and lipase
