Standard AS/NZS 4024._____ covers general principles for design - risk assessment
AS/NZS 4024.1201
Standard ____.1201 covers general principles for design - risk assessment
AS/NZS 4024.1201
Standard AS/NZS 4024._____ describes an iterative process of design in order to reduce risk
AS/NZS 4024.1503
Standard AS/NZS ____.1503 describes an iterative process of design in order to reduce risk
AS/NZS 4024.1503
The performance level in AS/NZS 4024.1503 is made up of the following parameters:
- Severity of injury
- Frequency and exposure time to the hazard
- Possibility of avoiding the hazard
- Architecture (category)
- Fault detection mechanism, DC - diagnostic coverage
- CCF - Common Cause Failures
- Reliability of components, MTTFd (Mean time to dangerous failure)
- Safety related software (if required)
- Systematic failure
- Environmental and operating conditions
Describe system behaviour of Category B
The occurrence of a fault can lead to the loss of the safety function
Describe system behaviour of Category 1
The occurrence of a fault can lead to the loss of the safety function, but the probability of occurrence is less than in category B
Describe system behaviour of Category 2
- The occurrence of a fault can lead to the loss of the safety function BETWEEN CHECKS,
- The loss of safety function is detected by the checks
Describe system behaviour of Category 3
- When a single fault occurs the safety function is always performed
- Some but not all faults will be detected
- Accumulation of undetected faults can lead to the loss of the safety function
Describe system behaviour of Category 4
- When a single fault occurs the safety function is always performed
- Faults will be detected in time to prevent the loss of the safety function
Describe the STRUCTURE and MONITORING required for category B
Single Channel structure, Monitoring not required
Describe the STRUCTURE and MONITORING required for category 1
Single Channel structure, Monitoring not required
Describe the STRUCTURE and MONITORING required for category 2
Single Channel structure, Periodic checks required
Describe the STRUCTURE and MONITORING required for category 3
Two or more channels, Detection of single faults where practical
Describe the STRUCTURE and MONITORING required for category 4
Two or more channels, Detection of single faults mandatory
