What are the indications of Macbeth’s character at the beginning?
When he spots the witches, most people would be scared, but he confidently walks up to them. He is the hero of the battle, indicating that he is strong and self confident. When the witches mention him becoming king, he is surprised, but he isn’t completely incredulous, indicating that he believes he has the potential to become king.
What are the indications of Banquo’s character at the beginning?
He is more skeptical of the witches prophecy, indicating a more cautious attitude when compared with Macbeth. He doesn’t necessarily believe them, and he appears more shy than Macbeth.
What are the indications of Lady Macbeth’s character?
She appears to be less a property of Macbeth, and much more like an equal, to some extent greater than Macbeth. She wants Macbeth to get power, and she thinks that in order for that to occur, Macbeth needs to do bad things. She acts as a persuader towards Macbeth She is much more willing to take drastic action, and she wishes that she were not a woman.
