Duncan was expecting him to come get him and accompany him on his trip
What news does Lennox give Macbeth?
The terrible things that happened.

- owls screamed all night

- He is expressing his public grief over Duncan, but really he does regret the act and describing his current way of life
- if he had died before he killed Duncan, he would still by loyal subject, honored, blessed
- others present think he means he wishd he never see that terrible crime happen
