2 types of witches
White witches: Are witches but help people with herbs and helpful potions.
Dark witches: Are evil witches that curse people and cause famine and death.

Scene 1 summary
We meet the three witches and we are told they will inform Macbeth of his future.
Scene 2 summary
King Duncan receives a message of how Macbeth fought and he orders the thane of Cawdor executed and gives his title to Macbeth.
Scene 3 summary
Macbeth and Banquo meet the witches and Macbeth doesn’t believe them until a messenger comes to tell him he is Thane of Cawdor.
Scene 4 summary
The Thane of Cawdor is killed and Duncan names Malcolm his heir to the throne.
Scene 5 summary
Lady Macbeth reads a letter from Macbeth and finds the witches prophecy and then decides it is time to kill Duncan and finds out that Duncan is coming to Macbeth’s castle that evening.
Scene 6 summary
Macbeth leads Duncan, Banquo and Malcolm around his castle and Duncan says it’s sweet and pleasant.
Scene 7 summary
Macbeth thinks it is wrong to kill the king but his manipulative wife convinced him to kill Duncan and she makes a plan.
Who was accused of being a witch and what happened to them?
Witches would be old widowed women often with warts or facially disfigured and a pet would be accused of witchcraft and would be hung or drowned.
