Q

Muscular layer

A

This layer lies between the submucosa and the canal’s outermost layer. It is made of layers of smooth muscle tissue and contracts to move materials through the canal.

26
Q

Serosa

A

The serosa is the double-walled, outermost layer of the canal and is also known as the peritoneum. The innermost wall of the serosa is known as the visceral peritoneum.
