Q

What is the origin of biceps brachii ?

A

Long head originates from the supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula. Both heads insert distally into the radial tuberosity and the fascia of the forearm via bicipital aponeurosis

15
Q

Where does the coracobrachialis originate from?

A

Originated from the coracoid process of scapula. The muscle passes through the axilla and attaches to the medial side of the humeral shaft at the level of the deltoid tubercle

16
Q

What is the function of coracobrachialis?

A

Flexion of the arm at the shoulder and weak adduction

17
Q

What is the innervation of the coracobrachialis?

A

Musculocutaneous nerve

18
Q

Where does the brachialis lie in?

A

Lies deep and distally from the biceps brachii. It forms the floor of the cubital fossa

19
Q

Where does the brachialis originate from?

A

From the medial and lateral surface of the humeral shaft and inserts into the ulnar tuberosity , distal from the elbow joint.

20
Q

Where does the arterial supply to the triceps brachii?

A

Via profunda brachii artery

21
Q

How many heads does the triceps brachii have and what are they called?

A

3
Long head
Lateral head
Medial head

22
Q

Where does the triceps brachii originate from?
(3 heads)

A

Long head - originates from infraglenoid tubercle
Lateral head- originates from the humerus ,superior to radial groove
Medial head- originates from the humerus, inferior to radial groove
Distally, the heads are at a tendon and insert in the olecranon of the ulna

23
Q

What is the function of triceps brachii?

A

Extension of the arm at the elbow

24
Q

What is the innervation of the triceps brachii?

A

Radial nerve
Triceps tendon test C7
(In some people it innervates in the axillary nerve)
