What are the different types of human louse and how are they spread?
Pediculus humanis= body louse, clothing spread (lays eggs in clothing)
Pediculus capitis= head louse, spread by contact (most common, seeing a resurgence)
Phthisrus pubis= public louse, spread by contact
** lice are very host specific
What is the lice lifecycle? e.g. P. captious
Egg is laid on hair shaft, the nymph develops , 3 moults to form adult male and female which then reproduce.
