Lymph Flashcards
Where do parasternal lymph nodes drain to?
Bronchomediastinal trunks
Where do upper and lower intercostal lymph nodes drain to?
Upper intercostal lymph nodes drain to bronchomediastinal trunks
Lower intercostal lymph nodes drain to thoracic duct
Where do diaphragmatic lymph nodes drain to?
Brachiocephalic and aortic/lumbar
Where do superficial lymph nodes drain to?
Axillary or parasternal
What are the lymphatics of the lungs?
Tracheobronchial
Around bronchi and trachea
From within lung through hilum
Unite with parasternal and brachiocephalic nodes anterior to brachiocephalic veins
Bronchomediastinal (left and right)
Lymphatic of the heart
Follow the coronary arteries and drain into brachiocephalic and tracheobronchial
Lymphatics of posterior mediastinum
Nodes on aorta receive lymph from oesophagus, diaphragm, liver and pericardium and drain into the
- Thoracic duct
- Posterior mediastinal
