Lymph Flashcards
B cells
make antibodies
IgG
coats microbes, speeding their uptake by other cells of the immune system
IgM
bacteria
IgA
concentrates in secretory fluids, guarding the entrances to the body
IgE
protects against parasites, responsible for Type I hypersensitivity reactions
IgD
remains attached to B cells and plays key role in initiating B cell responses
T cells
regulate immune response and lead direct attack
Helper T Cells
communicate with B Cells increasing antibody production, attract phagocytes and activate other T cells
Cytotoxic or Killer T Cells
directly attack other cells, especially those harboring viruses
Natural Killer Cells
packed full of toxic granules they
can use to attack many types of cells
