LVF - GTN Inidcation and action

A

Acute cardiogenic pulmonary oedema

Dilation of systmeic veins and thus preload - relieving pressure on heart

If >90SBP (perfused)

1-2 sprays (400-800mcg) every 5-10 mins (SL)

LVF - Furosemide Indication and action

A

Pulmonary oedema secondary to LVF

Potent diuretic

Only if perfused (>90SBP) and secondary to GTN - minimal evidence of efficacy

50mg in 5ml (IV over 2 mins)
