Luo Pathways- in detail Flashcards
1
Q
LI luo pathway
A
- begins at LI6
- joins with its interiorly-exteriorly associated LU channel 3 cun above the wrist
- ascends the arm through LI15 to the jaw and cheek, where it divides, one branch connecting with the teeth, the other entering the ear to join the ‘Zong Mai’ (where the channels of the LI, ST, SI, GB, and TW gather and collect at the ear)
2
Q
ST luo pathway
A
- originate on the lateral side of the lower leg at ST40
- travels to the medial aspect of the lower leg to join with the SP channel
- ascends the leg and trunk to the nape of the neck and head where it converges with the qi of the other yang chennels
- then travels internally to terminate at the throat
3
Q
SP luo pathway
A
- originates at SP4
- connects with the ST channel
- enters the abdomen and connects with the intestines and ST
4
Q
Great SP luo pathway
A
- separates from the primary channel at SP21 on the lateral aspect of the chest
- spreads through the chest and lateral costal region, gathering the blood of the luo-connecting channels of the whole body
5
Q
HT luo pathway
A
- separates from the HT channel at HT5 and connects with the SI channel
- follows the HT channel to the HT organ and then continues to the root of the tongue and the eye
6
Q
SI luo pathway
A
- separates from the SI channel at SI7 and connects with the HT channel
- ascends along the arm and connects with the shoulder at LI15
7
Q
BL luo pathway
A
- separates from the primary channel at BL58 and connects with the KD channel
8
Q
KD luo pathway
A
- begins at KD4 on the posterior aspect of the medial malleolus
- encircles the heel and enters internally to connect with the BL channel
9
Q
PC luo pathway
A
- begins at PC6 on the anterior forearm
2. ascends along with the PC primary channel to the PC and then connects with the HT
10
Q
TW luo pathway
A
- separates from the TW primary channel at TW5
2. proceeds up the posterior aspect of the arm and over the shoulder, converging with the PC channel in the chest
11
Q
GB luo pathway
A
- separates from the primary channel at GB37
- connects with the LV channel
- descends and disperses over the dorsum of the foot
12
Q
LV luo pathway
A
- separates from the primary channel at LV5 on the medial aspect of the lower leg
- connects with the GB channel
- ascends to the genitals
13
Q
REN luo pathway
A
- descends from CV15 and disperse over the abdomen
14
Q
DU luo pathway
A
- ascends from DU1 and travels up the sides of the spine to the top of the head
- at the shoulder blades it joins with the BL channel and threads through the spine
15
Q
LU luo pathway
A
- separates from the LU primary channel at LU7
- follows the LU channel into the palm and spreads through the thenar eminence
- connects with the LU channel’s interiorly-exteriorly related LI channel
