What is the function of the upper respiratory tract?
Moisturize inhaled air and filter particles
What does the lower respiratory tract consist of?
bronchi, brochioles, and alveoli
What is the visceral pleura?
Lines outside of the lungs
What is the parietal pleura?
Lines the inside of the chest wall and diaphragm
Which lung has 3 lobes and which one has 2 lobes?
The right side has 3 lobes and the left has 2 lobes
Why is the right lung shorter than the left?
because the liver is located beneath it
Why is the left lung smaller than the right?
the left lung is smaller than the right because the heart takes up space
