Inject pt supine - take several deep breaths, bring arms above head.

DTPA Ventilation protocol

Answer 3

Assemble Aero/Vent.
Add 2-3 mL DTPA into nebulizer injection port.
Attach O2 tubing to wall O2.
Place mouthpiece into Pts mouth and make tights seal with lips. Place nose clip.
Instruct pt to inhale/exhale through vent.
Gradually turn on wall O2 to 10 L/min.
Pt breathes through nebulizer for 2-3 min (until gurgling stops).
Turn off wall O2, pt takes another 4-5 breaths.
Remove nose clip and mouthpiece.
Seal labeled storage bag for decay in hot lab.
