What are the red flag symptoms for lung cancer?

- Unexplained haemoptysis (age>40)
- CXR suggestive of malignancy
- Chest symptoms : SOB, cough, chest pain.
- Supraclavicular or cervical lymphaneopathy

- CXR
2. FBC : Platelets (Thrombocystosis)

What are the risk factors for lung cancer?
A
- Smoking
- Asbestos exposure or toxins
- COPD
- Previous history of cancer esp head and neck

When would you consider making a referral using the cancer pathway for an appointment within 2 weeks?
A
- CXR findings suggestive of Lung cancer
2. Aged > 40 with unexplained haemoptysis

When should Chest X ray be offered to > 40 years?
A
- (1 symptoms for asbestos exposure and 2 symptoms for never smoked)
1. Cough, SOB, chest pain
2. Fatigue, weight loss and loss of appetite
