What might you suspect in person with shoulder pain, muscle wasting in hand, and horner’s syndrome?
Pancoasts tumour - erodes into ribs (shoulder pain)
Presses on C8, T1 nerves - hand
Affects sympathetic nerves (horners)
4 causes of massive pleural effusion (of which lung cx is one - why?)
TB
Empyema
Haemothorax
Lung cancer - mets in pleura
