AP, Oblique (LPO and RPO), lateral, L5-S1 spot
SID for lumbar spine
40 - 46 (depending on thickness of patient)
AP lumbar supine leg position and why?
Knees and hips flexed - to bring spine closer to IR, reduce the lordotic gap and make patient more comfortable
CR for ap lumbar
level of the iliac crest (bellybutton)

T12-S1 included, collimation to include the SI joints
CR for oblique lumbar
1-2 inches above iliac crest

L1-S1 clearly viewed, Z-joints, pedicle near center of vertebral body,

T12 to distal sacrum demonstrated, intervertebral disk space open, intervertebral foramina open
CR for lateral L5-S1 spot shot
1 1/2 inches inferior to iliac crest and 2 inches posterior to asis
Evaluation criteria for L5-S1 lateral
L5 and S1 demonstrated and centered, joint space open
