LTC 3 Flashcards
John 7:38-39*
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Col 1:18*
He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
1 Cor 12:13*
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
Rom 12**
1 Cor 12**
Christians are members of the Body of Christ and therefore members of one another. This is the basis for interdependence and involvement with other Christians.
1 Cor 14**
Due to chaotic disruptions in corporate meetings, women in the Corinthian church were instructed to keep quite. This is not an absolute ban on women speaking in church, cf. 1 Cor 11
1 Pet. 2:4-10**
The mission of the church is to serve as a race of priest-kings who proclaim the excellencies of God (not the NIV translation “declare the praises of him”)
Eph 4:11-16**
The proper functioning of the body of Christ: Under the headship of Christ, not only are there leaders who equip other members (the saints) but saints themselves do the “works of service,” by “speaking the truth to one another”
2 Cor 5:19-20*
God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation… Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Matt 28:18-20*
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
1 Tim 3**

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Rom 6:23*
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord
