Why have I chosen this course?
- intrest sparked when my brother was born
- passion grew when studying HSC, helping me understand the importance of midwifery + helped increase my awareness of some of the barriers that women face.
Skills gained from Reading Buddies:
- program organised by my school, would read with children below their reading age to support them.
- helped me develop patience = necessary in a midwife = help support patients during labour.
- commitment = important to show up & support = makes patients feel supported
- empowerment = supporting and encouraging = helping patients during labour = helping stand up for them.
