Q

Why is education a cause of inequality?

A

Low level of education leads to low skilled, low paying jobs, increasing poverty and inequality while people with high level of education can earn more income. Low income households cannot afford higher education for their children, so cycle continues and gap widens over time

Q

Why does ownership of property affect inequality?

A

Leads to increased wealth and source of income (rent), so income of wealthier individuals rises, and with increasing prices, harder for poorer individuals to purchase property. Leads to more wealth inequality

Stocks/bonds provide significant income through dividends, interest and profit from selling assets
