How do you teat patients with low sodium?

A

Depends on the cause

Fluid restriction nearly always works (drink less).

Pontine demyelination - can occur with rapid correction of hyponatremia

Infusion of hypertonic saline + Ferosemide can be used in symptomatic patients.
