Aconitum napellus
Aconite (monkshood, wolfsbane, friars cap)
Family: Ranunculaceae (Buttercup)
Parts used: leaves, flowers. Root most toxic
For: sedative
Has: toxic terpenoid alkaloids
Toxicity: Tingling of the mouth, numbness, sense of sinking, violent vomiting, VFib, coldness and numbness of limbs, shallow breathing, then death.
Dose: 6c
Toxic dose: 1 tsp (5ml) 1:5 tincture Or 1gm raw plant
Atropa belladonna
Belladonna (deadly nightshade)
Family: Solanaceae
Parts used: leaf
For: narcotic, sedative, respiratory spasmolytic.
Has: atropine (solanaceous alkaloid)
Dose: 1:10 tincture 1-15 drops
Toxicity: unquenchable thirst, dilation of pupils, delirium, hallucinations, convulsions, coma, and death.
Lobelia inflata
Lobelia Family: Lobeliaceae (Bluebell) Parts used: flower and seed For: emetic, stimulant, expectorant, anti-spasmodic Has: Lobeline (alkaloid) Dose: 1:10 tincture 2 ml 3x/day *No more than 10% in any formula Emetic 1tsp dry in 1 cup water. Toxicity: vomiting, weakness, stupor, tremors, paralysis, increased respiration and pulse, hypothermia, pinpoint pupils, sweating, prostration, convulsions, coma, and death.

For: opiates opium, morphine, and heroin.
Has: alkaloids (morphine, thebaine, codeine, oripavine)
Dose: not used. But very low eclectically
Veratrum virde

Parts used: root
For: Hypertension
Bryonia alba
Bryonia
Family: Cucurbitaceae (gourd)
Parts used: root
For: irritant. Stimulates healing externally, irritant expectorant, purgative-cathartic.
Has: cucurbitacin glycoside, triterpenes
Dose: 1-10 drops fresh tincture
Toxicity: severe diarrhea, vomiting, death.
