What’s the form of the poem
Rhyme scheme?
Masculine rhyme & femine rhyme
^ the mix makes the ryhme mingle together reflects how he wants himself to mingle with a women
Regular abab rhyme scheme- however 2 lines in each stance don’t rhyme which ref elects how he and his love are separate from the rest of poem
What’s the structure and it’s effect ?
Tightly structured to be persuasive
Rhetorical question at the end of each stanza which stands out from rest of stanza emphasising his contrast to nature and his distance from her
How is imagery about nature used ?

Nature is personified ‘mingle’ and he argues that him and his lover should follow natures example
He draws parallels and the over use reflects desperation
He repeats words and puts the them at the start of each line

How could the poem not be seen as a lyric poem
As it expresses feelings there is lots of religious imagery used but Shelly is a strong atheist so it doesn’t fit completely
What does religious imagery shown and what other way could the poet be using this for
To show how his lover is sacred to him but he could be using it just to be as persuasive as he possibly can > this could show the speaker to be disingenuous
What’s the writer trying to message across
Man persuading women to have sex with him
Asking of questions but no reply (dramatic monologue) shows make dominance and women is irrelevant
What does the structure represent
It’s a repetitive structure so shows a repetitive nature in man and portrays him as demanding

Second it becomes more celestial
