Love for Enemies Flashcards
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbour’ [a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
In this scripture, Who is speaking?
Jesus is speaking.
How do we know who is speaking? Key words that show us this?
It sounds like Jesus speaking as the message is to love everyone and that you are children of your father in heaven. It is in the gospel of Matthew which is one of the four books Jesus only speaks. (father in heaven, righteous and unrighteous)
Using the passage, how should we act towards eachother?
We all should show compassion towards each other and love each other as we are all neighbours.
What are some challenges of living like a true christian today?
Bullying is a problem with Christian values as people judge others who are different. Peer pressure is another problem as you can get pressured to do things you don’t want to.
