What does The Lord of the Flies translate to and what does the translation mean?
Beelzebub, a power demon in hell who is sometimes thought to be the devil.
How does the theme of savagery progress with the novel?
The boys begin to act in a more ‘savage’ way as they are forced to hunt for food and fight for their lives
What is the importance of the beast in the novel?
The fear of the beast possessed by the boys makes them paranoid. They begin to take weapons anywhere they go and they end up killing Simon because of this. “We’d better take spears.” (pg.128)
