Q

Why is Piggy called ‘Piggy’?

A

-Physically like him; ugly, overweight however one of the most intellectual animals in the world.
-Links him to the hunting/ killing of the sow; Piggy is always attacked and bullied by the other boys. They use him for his glasses and intelligence, just like they use the sow for meat. He eventually gets killed in a similarly gruesome way to the sow, and identically his death is also looked over and not regretted or sympathised for.
-Piggy is the hunted one out of the boys.
-We never find out his real name, he is never truly accepted or trusted by the boys.
