Chapter 1
The sound of the shell
The plane crashes and the survivors gather on the beach. Ralph is elected chief.
Chapter 2
Fire on the mountain
Ralph establishes rules like the conch rule. They build a signal fire which burns down part of the island killing a littleun.
Chapter 3
Huts on the beach
Ralph wants to build shelters but jack takes his choir to hunt. Simon goes off into the forest and collects fruit for the others.
Chapter 4
Painted faces and long hair
Violence begins to creep in through Rogers actions. A ship I seen on the horizon but the fire is out as jack went hunting instead. Ralph confronts jack about this. Jack hits piggy.
Chapter 5
Beast from water
The boys are becoming more savage and ignore Ralph’s rules. They become scared of the beast, jack says he will hunt it. The boys start to support jack. The rules of the conch become less important as jack speaks without it.
Chapter 6
Beast from air
The body of a dead airman lands on the island. He is mistaken for the beast. Jack uses the beast to gain power.
Chapter 7
Shadows and tall trees
Ralph begins to feel trapped on the island. Ralph becomes more savage and joins the pig hunt. Jack and Ralph see the airman and mistake him for the beast.
Chapter 8
Gift for the darkness
Jack tries to take over a a chief, people begin to join his tribe.
Jack Kills a pig and leaves the head as an offering for the beast. Simon finds the pig head. Lord of the flies scene.
Chapter 9
A view to a death
Simon finds the dead airman and realises he’s not the beast.
Jacks power grows. Jack throws a feast. During a tribal dance the boys kill Simon.
Chapter 10
The shell and the glasses
Ralph is the only one who sees Ralph’s death as murder. Ralph no longer has any power. Jacks tribe steals piggy’s glasses.
Chapter 11
Castle rock
Ralph and piggy visit jacks tribe to get the glasses back. Rodger drops a rock on piggy, killing him.
Chapter 12
Cry of the hunters
Jacks tribe chases Ralph through the forest. Ralph is saved by a naval officer.
