name contextual features of LOTF
Golding was a pessimist and believed the worst in humanity. He fought in world war 2, hence the book being based in a nuclear war, and saw what humanity was capable of. After reading coral island, he didnt believe it was realistic so wrote lotf as a more realistic version. This was due to working as a teacher in a public school.
