How was juxtaposition used
Juxtaposition of innocence and experience shocks the reader e.g.- in every infants cry of fear
What’s the effect of repetition
Relentless repetition of negative and emotive language-
E.g. In every cry, in every infants, in every voice- also an example of anaphora
Emphasises the bleak mood and angry tone of poem- also shows how Blake is trying to express how many people are effected from all different walks of life

Shows how soldiers feel trapped by the power of monarchy and conflict/war- links to snake in Adam and Eve who betrays god- soldiers feel betrayed and helpless and
How does the monarchy maintain control in London
By not educating lower class people, by having no education children cannot escape the cycle e.g.- chimney sweep and “harlots curse”- prostitution

Blake was a romantic poet, who explored the effects of the industrial revolution on england, protesting against the lack of individual freedom.
