A

(1920) Poland look control over Vilna, the capital of Lithuania. Vilna appealed to LON => X make Poland withdraw
France & Britian were reluctant =>Poland was a potential ally against germany

Greek-Bulgarian border

A

1924, greek soldiers were killed pn Greek’s border with Bulgaria.
Greek troups invaded, Bulgaria appealed to LON for help.
LON demanded both sides to stand down& Greeece withdraw (B & F supported)
Greece obeyed. Pointed out that there seemed to be one rule for large states like Italy and another for smaller states such as itself.
Oucome was big sucsess for LON & optimism about tis affectivness soared

3 Italian officials were killed while servaying Greek side of frontier
Benito Mussolini (ItLeader) blamed Greek.
1. Demanded Compensation
2. attacked/occuppied Corfu (Greek island)

G appealed to LON but Mussolini insisted dsipute resolved by Conference of Ambassadors, X LON
=>Brit wanted stand up to Mussolini. French involved in dispute with G in Ruhr region over reparations X want a dispute with italy as well.
