What is a hasty generalization?
An argument in which someone makes a broad claim based on too small of a sample size
What is an ad hominem fallacy?
refers to attacking the person rather than his/her argument
What is circular reasoning?
Repeating the claim as evidence to the claim
What is a red herring?
When a speaker skips to a new and irrelevant topic in order to avoid the topic of discussion
What is a straw man fallacy?
When the speaker chooses a deliberately poor or oversimplified example in order to ridicule and refute the opponents view point
What is a faulty analogy?
Result on an analogy which is vulnerable because it is susceptible to change that 2 things are not conparable
What is a false dilemma?
Also called either/or, where the speaker presents only 2 extreme options as the only possible choices
