What is a fallacy

A

A fallacy is the use of invalid, or otherwise faulty reasoning in the construction of an argument

What is a logical fallacy

A

Any kind of error in reasoning that renders and argument invalid. I.e. the false cause: when someone incorrectly identifies the cause of something. Such as dinosaurs became extinct because they ate vegetables (correlation does not = causation).

Or false dilemma - the false assumption that there is only and either or answer

A

These arguments takes the premises as evidence that predicts a conclusion

What is a deductive argument

A

The premises logically guarantee the conclusion. This makes the argument valid. If A=B then B=C.
A sound argument means however the premises must be true whilst still being valid
