What is LOTS?
Logistics over the shore; operations provide the capability to move focus, cargo and sustainment through austere/degraded ports or over bare beaches (INDIVIDUAL SERVICE)
What is JLOTS?
Joint Logistics Over the Shore; opertions together under a joint task force; each service component provides equipment and performs designated tasks specific to that Service’s capability outlined in JP 4-01.6
What is the purpose of LOTS
combatant commander the option to choose off-load locations, such as bare beach, austere port, or damaged fixed port in order to achieve port access; allows for cargo to be delivered and off-loaded closer to the point of need
What are planning considerations for LOTS
water depth, tidal range, wind and weather, weight of vehicles, sandbars, sand dunes, local population, proimixty to rail, APOD, SPOD and road
What is RORO and RRDF
RORO: roll on and roll off; RRDF: roll on roll of discharge facility
What is aerial port operations
arrival and departure airfield operations conducted by USAF units and the deploying component units.
Contingency Group Response
a USAF organization tasked to deploy in order to secure, assess, and open initially operate airbases for the USAF component their regional Combatant Command
