What are the steps for TFBUT

A
  • Place patient at the slit lamp
  • Instill fluoresce in in the patience eyes and ask them to blink
  • Ask them to hold eye open
  • scan the cornea with a 2-3 mm wide cobalt blue light and low magnification
  • count from. The time of the last blink the seconds it takes to show the dark spots or streaks
  • if the patient blinks before 10seconds have them start over
  • repeat the measurement and take the average
