What are the effects of an internal capsule lesion?
A
Contralateral upper motor neuron facial paralysis.
Contralateral arm and leg heiplegia.
Afferent fibers to the PPRF from the frontal eye field.
Discriminative touch impairment possible
Alertness No dysphagia (if dominant hemisphere) Visual field deficit possible.

What is Wallenberg Syndrome?
A
Ipsilateral face pain/reduced pain and temperature sensation in the face
Loss of pain and temperature in the contralateral limbs and body
Ipsilateral Horner Syndrome
Nystagmus
Incoordination of the ipsilateral arm
Leaning and veering while sitting or walking with gait ataxia
Dysphagia and hoarseness in deep lesions
