What do local/street maps show? (5)
A
They show:
a bird’s eye view of a particular area
the names of towns, suburbs and streets (written along the line/curve that represents the street
how the roads connect to one another
important places such as schools, parks, and churches which are shown as symbols.

What 4 main symbols are used on a local/street map?
A
- Rivers- usually depicted in blue.
- Vegetation- (such as trees and farming) usually depicted in green.
- Important places have specific symbols (e.g. red cross represents a hospital.
- The initial letter of a particular institution or building is used to represent the institution.
